2022 & You: Dealing with Stress (Part 3)

In the last blog post we highlighted how dealing with stress can be very difficult in the new year. Many of us take on new task new jobs and a plethora of other responsibilities in the new year, which can cause a lot of stress. In the last blog post I gave tips on how to plan, organize, and implement responsibilities, and in this blog post I will introduce ways on how to manage the stress that may come, even with knowing how to manage these responsibilities!

Mindfulness

  • A type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you’re sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment
    • Mayo Clinic

Mindfulness is a very common practice in the world of psychology and therapy today. So there are many informative videos and post about it from outside sources! However, our next blog post will detail more about mindfulness for those interested.

Reflection

  • Reflect on what is giving you anxiety

Knowing what is giving you anxiety and confronting it is a great way to alleviate it! Take time to really figure out what is bothering you, jot these things down and try to go over them!

Organization

  • Organize what your reflection brings or other aspects of your life

After you are able to figure out the source of this anxiety…organize it! Stressed about your class, a new project, or something else figure  out how to organize it in your life to help deal with your stress. Organizing can also mean organize your surroundings! Cleaning your room, office, or even old emails can greatly help with stress!
