Person First Language Series- Substance Use (pt.3)

This week we have been focusing on person first language.

Person first language emphasis the importance of putting the person before their “label”. For example instead of saying someone is an alcoholic you would say person with a substance use disorder.

Below is an article that specifically deals with substance use as this is one of the more common types of labels that holds a lot of stigma in our society and is often misused.
