In this series, we are focusing on different Attachment Styles! Attachment Styles usually develop during childhood. Based on how one is confronted and learns how to self-soothe can drastically change how one’s attachment styles form.
In this specific week, we are learning about a type of insecure attachment style, avoidant. This type of Attachment Style can be defined as Dissmissve or Fearful. In this blog post, we will focus on the Avoidant Fearful Attachment Style.
This type of Attachment style is usually formed from a neglectful childhood. Those with this type of attachment style usually experienced some type of abuse or neglect. Due to this those with this attachment style tend to be fearful of caregivers.
Due to this adverse childhood, those who experience this attachment style tend to feel a great need for strong emotional bonds, but once this is achieved, similar to the other avoidant attachment style the person will tend to lean away from the relationship.
This is why both of these attachment styles are defined as avoidant.
