Orlando Individual, Adolescent and Family Counseling

Amie Ortiz is a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University, with a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology- Mental Health. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Amie was born in the Bronx, NY and being first-generation American has had to personally assimilate into a different culture. Her fluency in Spanish and her ethnic background prompted her to become immersed in the multicultural issues within the community as she saw the needs of the community were being grossly unserved.

Through Amie’s personal experiences with counseling, she has learned the importance of establishing an environment where her clients feel that they can come as they are and be themselves. It is Amie’s belief that safety, trust and the space for change can occur within the relationship of the client and the therapist. Amie believes that each person deserves the space to be heard and enters each session ready to provide the client with empathy and unconditional regard.

Amie has worked with children, adolescents, and adults. These clients have faced a variety of different obstacles from being displaced from their home to working through a significant traumatic event. She enjoys working with others to assist them in achieving their personal goal. She also enjoys helping clients see the connection between their mind, body, and soul.

In her free time, Amie enjoys cooking up new recipes, baking, visiting new places and the outdoors.
